While not as famous locally and internationally as other motorcycle-manufacturing brands like Harley-Davidson, Moto Guzzi does hold a niche of its own. With the distinction as Europe’s oldest operating motorcycle maker, Moto Guzzi was established in 1921 in the Italian village of Mandello del Lario. Every year, Moto Guzzi dishes out new motorcycle models for its niche clientele. Here are three of them for next year.
The 2014 Moto Guzzi California 1400 combines modern amenities and technology with elegant and classic cruiser geometry. The California 1400’s engine is rated to generate 87 lb-ft of torque and 96 hp. Peak torque is at 2,750 rpm. Now, that is some serious firepower! Traction control and ABS (anti-lock brakes) come standard with this model. Moreover, the California 1400 is a combination of retro style and cutting-edge technology.
The first thing that one notices about the 2014 Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V SE Special Edition is its aerodynamic looks. In this model, one can only see high art in its peak. The perfectly-proportioned Griso – in terms of looks – comes with a matte silver/black color that has a lot of elegantly-designed elements like wheels, frames, handlebar, instrument panel cover, and steering plate. The specs are even better with a maximum torque output of above 110 hp at 7,500 rpm! The Griso, with a V90 four-stroke engine, has a capacity of 1,151cc. With its looks alone, one can say that the 2014 Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V SE Special edition is one powerful machine. One only needs to check it out.
